Audit Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

- Works on engagements, to include financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and other process as assigned by audit supervisors/managers
- Performs detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances and prepares effective and clear work papers
- Develops an understanding of the accounting and auditing principles relevant to individual client engagements
- Participates in engagement planning process
- Anticipates problem areas of engagement and questions that will arise
- Assists with complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements
- Proficient in preparing financial statements using the firm's software programs
- Communicates to supervisor all important developments on engagement and analyzes problems and recommends solution
- Maintains general knowledge of economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect business client
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred
- CPA or working towards CPA strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and accounting software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organization skills
