Teacher's Aide

Along with a few name changes, our work has continually transformed to anticipate and address the evolving needs of families and individuals, many of whom are the most vulnerable in our community. Wages $18.00-$19.00 per hour Schedule This is a regular part-time position, and we are seeking candidates who can commit to at least 15 and up to 20 hours per week. The shifts that are currently available include: Mondays‑Fridays 7‑11am and Mondays‑Fridays 10:30am‑2pm. In the summertime, there may be options to work more hours per week. Employees who are regularly scheduled 18.75 hours a week or more will be eligible for the following benefits: $1,000 hiring bonus after 3 months of employment Generous paid time off, plus 10 paid holidays Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) and options for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Long‑term disability insurance – the employer pays the premiums Employer‑paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee Voluntary benefits: Accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, short‑term disability insurance TFP sponsors a retirement plan with a tiered vesting schedule based on years of service, plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service. Employees who are regularly scheduled for less than 18.75 hours a week will be eligible for the following benefits: $1,000 hiring bonus after 3 months of employment Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) Because TFP is a member with Metropolitan Alliance of Connected Communities (MACC) who partners with St. Mary’s University, TFP employees and their spouses are also eligible for the following benefits at St. Mary’s University: Discounted tuition for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate programs Access to advancement (internships, job placement, field practice) Job Summary The Family Partnership is hiring two(2) Teacher’s Aides to support Lead and Assistant Teachers at Four Directions, which is a full-day therapeutic education and care program for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years of age. Four Directions is committed to the revitalization of the Dakota and Ojibway languages. We work with our partner Wicoie Nandagikendan to provide language immersion and culturally responsive early childhood education. Responsibilities Supporting teachers during activities, transitions, play, outdoor time, meals, and rest. Actively supervising children at all times. Engaging children in developmentally appropriate interactions that support exploration, belonging, and independence. Assisting children in regulating emotions, resolving conflict, and developing social skills. Assisting with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and hygiene routines. Supporting mealtime routines following CACFP guidelines. Cleaning and disinfecting toys, materials, tables, and learning spaces throughout the day. Maintaining safe, well‑organized classroom and playground environments. Supporting teachers in implementing cultural, academic, sensory, and therapeutic activities. Reinforcing strategies provided by occupational therapists, speech clinicians, and mental health providers. Maintaining confidentiality and professional communication. Demonstrating cultural humility in all interactions. Who You Are You have previous experience in early childhood or childcare settings. You demonstrate a genuine interest in working with young children. You are able to lift 50lbs (to lift children and/or equipment as needed) and engage physically in childcare routines. You have the ability to communicate respectfully with children, families, and staff. You demonstrate a willingness to learn infant, toddler, and preschool care practices. You demonstrate a commitment to cultural responsiveness and trauma‑informed care. You hold CPR/First Aid certification or are willing to obtain it.
