Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown position requiring an active OH or compact license and 18 months of recent stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in the HVTI-Stepdown unit of a hospital environment
• Potential to float to units J1-2, J33, and the ED to care for the same patient population
• 3x12 shift schedule only
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Shifts may rotate between day and night to meet operational needs
• Required to work at least every other holiday

Requirements

• Active permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand required
• AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty required, preferably within one location
• 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required, travel experience accepted
• PCU or progressive care experience preferred but not required
• One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty required, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months
• Co-worker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Care for stepdown patient population, with potential to float to related units and the ED
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment completed during orientation, with a passing score required (maximum of two attempts)
• PBDS assessment waived for this position
• Nurses are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirement
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract
• Assignments may extend up to 18 consecutive months, with a required 6-month break before returning unless otherwise approved
• 20-week assignment for winter coverage, with 13-week assignments also accepted
