Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lending Specialist with a strong background in commercial lending for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Westbury, NY . The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience supporting commercial loan processes, including documentation, underwriting support, loan servicing, and client communication. This role is well suited for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment and can manage multiple loan files with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and support commercial loan applications from intake through closing
- Review loan documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Coordinate with relationship managers, underwriters, attorneys, and clients throughout the loan process
- Prepare, track, and maintain commercial loan files and supporting documentation
- Assist with loan booking, funding, renewals, modifications, and servicing activities
- Monitor timelines and follow up on outstanding conditions prior to closing
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, banking regulations, and lending procedures
- Respond to borrower and internal team inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain accurate records within loan processing and document management systems
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial lending, commercial loan processing, or a related banking role
- Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, terminology, and workflows
- Experience supporting loan origination, underwriting, closing, and servicing functions
- Knowledge of banking compliance and regulatory standards related to commercial loans
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and loan processing systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a bank, credit union, or commercial finance environment
- Familiarity with commercial real estate, C& I, or small business loans
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
