Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Full-Time – Great Temp to Hire Opportunity!
1st Shift – Monday to Friday
07:30 AM to 04:00 PM
(Overtime as needed based on shipping activity)
Pay rate: $20-$22/hour BOE
Get paid every Friday!
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Shipping & Receiving Specialist to manage all inbound and outbound logistics operations. This role requires hands-on experience with shipping coordination, inventory control, and working with carriers and brokers. The ideal candidate is dependable, resourceful, and comfortable handling complex shipments, including custom packaging and crate building.
Qualified Candidate Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately process all incoming shipments
- Count, verify, and document materials regardless of volume
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Route and organize materials to correct locations
- Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments (UPS, FedEx, LTL, Truckload)
- Build custom cartons and crates for irregular or oversized items
- Create and process Bills of Lading (BOL) and shipping documentation
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling for safe transport
- Work with carriers and brokers to obtain freight quotes and negotiate rates
- Track shipment schedules and provide updates on delays or issues
- Operate forklifts and support warehouse material movement
- Transfer inventory between buildings as needed (driving)
Requirements
- 1–2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Forklift certification required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and documentation
- Basic computer skills (shipping/inventory systems, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials
- Valid NC or SC driver’s license required
- Ability to build crates and handle custom packaging a strong plus
- Experience with freight carriers, brokers, or rate negotiation preferred
