The Shipping And Receiving Supervisor oversees all shipping and receiving operations to ensure processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with safety, security, and regulatory standards. This role coordinates deliveries and shipments with internal and external customers, manages inventory of products and supplies, and maintains detailed records and reports of all incoming and outgoing shipments. The supervisor also trains, coaches, and leads the shipping and receiving team to follow proper procedures and deliver high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures.
• Coordinate delivery and shipment schedules with internal departments and external customers to meet timelines and service expectations.
• Manage inventory of products and supplies, including monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory control activities.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, shortages, and overages, and take appropriate corrective actions when discrepancies are found.
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments and generate reports as needed for operational tracking and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory standards within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
• Train and coach shipping and receiving team members on proper procedures, quality standards, and safety practices.
• Provide clear direction to team members, set expectations, and measure the quality and accuracy of their work.
• Give constructive feedback and manage performance for team members to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments to resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory-related issues.
• Operate within warehouse management processes and support the use of equipment such as forklifts in a safe and compliant manner.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive tasks and handling documentation.
• Support a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Essential Skills

• 45 years of shipping and receiving experience.
• 2 years of lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations and procedures.
• Experience with warehouse inventory and inventory control practices.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and other departments.
• Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, documentation, and inventory records.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderately heavy items as part of daily duties.
• Ability to work collaboratively with direct team members and across departments, and to work independently when needed.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team by providing direction, measuring quality of work, giving feedback, and managing performance.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite for documentation, reporting, and communication.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role is based in a warehouse environment and involves supervising a team of approximately 34 employees. You will spend much of your time on your feet, standing, walking, bending, and lifting moderately heavy items, as well as working with warehouse equipment such as forklifts. The environment is process-oriented, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficient movement of goods, and you will use MS Office tools to manage documentation and reporting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $75000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
