We are seeking a community-focused Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to join our outpatient team in Seattle. In this role, you will do much more than manage prescriptions-you will serve as a vital link in a mission-driven care network. Position Details

• Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Steady daytime hours)
• Work Type: Full-time contract (Estimated 921 hours total, 40 hours/week)
• Location: Seattle, WA 98104 (On-site clinic environment)

Key Responsibilities


Community-Centered Patient Relations

• Serve as the welcoming face of the pharmacy at both the intake and pickup windows, ensuring a supportive and smooth experience.
• Field incoming phone inquiries from community members and clinic staff, efficiently escalating clinical, complex, or regulatory questions to the licensed pharmacist.
• Provide compassionate, culturally attuned service that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of our Relatives.

Prescription Management & Adjudication

• Review, interpret, and accurately enter medication orders into our pharmacy database.
• Double-check critical data fields, confirming valid authorization dates, proper expiration tracking, and precise NDC selection.
• Submit third-party insurance claims online, resolve routine billing rejections, and apply eligible cost-saving or discount programs.
• Monitor unclaimed prescriptions and return medications to active stock according to established timelines.

Cashiering & Material Logistics

• Handle register transactions securely, maintain cash drawer accuracy, and complete standard end-of-day reconciliation.
• Receive daily wholesale shipments, verify packing slips against invoices, organize shelves using proper rotation, and pull expiring inventory.

Workflow Safety & Compliance

• Maintain strict alignment with inner-clinic protocols and the directives of the supervising pharmacist.
• Uphold rigid adherence to state and federal healthcare mandates, including Washington State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, AAAHC, Medicare, DSHS, and 340B guidelines.
• Participate in proactive quality improvement efforts by tracking discrepancies, reporting workflow bottlenecks, and helping implement safer practices.

Job Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

• Credentials: Currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
• Certification: CPhT status is preferred (candidates holding a Pharmacy Assistant registration with solid experience are welcome to apply).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1+ years of active pharmacy experience.
• Technical Skills: Competency with pharmacy management systems, point-of-sale registers, insurance verification, and copay assistance programs.
