Licensed Loan Officer Job in Warren - Direct Hire | Credit Union | Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits A well-established credit union in Warren, MI is seeking a Licensed Loan Officer for a direct hire, full-time opportunity. This is a base salary position (not commission) offering competitive compensation, strong benefits, and long-term career growth in the financial services industry. If you have 2-3+ years of lending experience, strong underwriting skills, and a passion for helping members secure the right loan products, this opportunity offers stability, growth, and a Monday-Friday schedule. Loan Officer Job Responsibilities As a Licensed Loan Officer, you will manage the full loan lifecycle from application to closing while ensuring compliance with federal and state lending regulations. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness through loan applications, credit reports, and financial documentation
- Conduct applicant interviews to assess loan eligibility and financial feasibility
- Analyze financial ratios, debt-to-income (DTI), and risk factors
- Structure loan terms and repayment plans tailored to member needs
- Recommend appropriate consumer loan products (direct and indirect lending)
- Prepare, process, and finalize loan documentation and contracts
- Maintain accurate records in banking and loan origination systems
- Communicate proactively with members regarding documentation and loan status
- Cross-sell credit union financial products to meet production goals
- Ensure full compliance with lending regulations and internal policies
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout underwriting and closing
- Active Lending License (Required)
- 2-3+ years of professional loan origination or consumer lending experience
- Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines and credit analysis
- Experience with direct and indirect lending products
- Proficiency in banking software and loan processing systems
- Strong sales, communication, and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple loan files efficiently
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Full-Time, Direct Hire
