Strategic Finance ResponsibilitiesFactory is looking for a Strategic Finance hire to be a foundational member of our Finance team. You will partner directly with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and senior leadership to build the financial infrastructure that powers our most important decisions.This is a generalist role with broad scope - spanning planning, operations, go-to-market finance, board and investor reporting, and strategic projects.What you will do and achieveOwn and maintain the company's core financial modelsDrive the annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, partnering with leaders across the businessPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and senior leadership to align financial outcomes with company strategyDefine, track, and report on the KPIs that measure topline performance, unit economics, and operational efficiencyBuild business cases for strategic decisions including pricing, deal structuring, investments, hiring plans, and product launchesPrepare board, investor, and executive materials that distill complex data into clear narratives and influence key decisionsPartner closely with our Accounting team to evolve financial reporting and broader finance operationsHelp us leverage AI across every part of the finance org - from modeling, to reporting, to insight generationQualifications4-7+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or growth investingOperational experience at a fast-paced, high-growth technology company strongly preferredExpert financial modeling skillsStrong analytical rigor and the ability to critically evaluate opportunities and risks in financialsExcellent communication and storytelling ability - can translate complex models and datasets into concise narratives, visuals, and recommendations for executivesFamiliarity with SaaS, usage-based, and consumption-driven business modelsComfort with ambiguity and a 'roll up your sleeves' mindset in a lean, fast-paced environmentEnthusiasm for AI and Factory's mission to redefine how software is builtNice to have:Background in AI, ML, or cloud infrastructure economicsExperience using AI tools to automate finance workflowsThis is an in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco (walking distance to Caltrain)LocationSan Francisco, CAEmployment TypeFull timeLocation TypeOn-siteDepartmentOperations
