Growing together.Our team provides Analytic Application development and support, Business Intelligence Solutions, Custom Reporting, and Consulting for Optum Payment Integrity. We provide data analytic development services that identify overpayments or recoveries for Data Mining, Coordination of Benefits (COB), Fraud Waste Abuse and Error (FWAE), and Subrogation. This position will develop new analytics, enhance existing analytics, and maintain and improve the applications that support these analytics using bigdata tools, Azure, Pyspark, SCALA and AIML technology stack. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Primary Responsibilities:Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data, Cloud solutionsDesign, develop and implement analytics rules enginesResearch, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks, and patterns to build sustainable Big Data platformIdentify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutionsDefine and develop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterpriseAnalyze and define customer requirementsAssist in defining product technical architectureMake accurate development effort estimates to assist management in project and resource planningCreate prototypes, proof-of-concepts & design of AI/ML models and code reviewsCollaborate with management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teamsWrite technical documentation and participate in production supportKeep skills up to date through ongoing self-directed trainingRequired Qualifications:8+ years of professional experience in Information Technology (IT)5+ years of experience developing software applications5+ years of experience developing applications using Scala, Python, JSON, and Web Services3+ years of experience developing solutions hosted within public cloud providers such as Azure/AWS, etc.2+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining web APIs or RESTful services in a production environment2+ years of experience working with distributed systems technologies such as Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, or Snowflake2+ years of experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases2+ years of experience in supporting Agile delivery methodologies, including backlog refinement, user story development, and sprint planning2+ years of experience with AI/ML-driven solutions1+ years of experience building services or full stack applications using technologies such as FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, React, Angular, TypeScript, and HTML/CSSPreferred Qualifications:Data analysis experienceFunctional testing experienceHealthcare industry experienceUnderstanding of SOA (service-oriented architecture) conceptsExcellent analysis, process, problem solving and critical thinking skills*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
