Staffing CoordinatorLocation: 171 Ashley Avenue Charleston, SC 29425 Duration: 3+ months POSITION TYPE: 100% Onsite SCHEDULE: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), Weekends Required (up to 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period based on operational needs), and Holiday Flexibility Required as Needed.Important Call OutsCandidates must be committed to working the assigned shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.This is a high-volume, call center-based staffing coordination role supporting hospital operations.Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where answering incoming operational calls and making real-time staffing decisions are critical responsibilities.No competing employment, PRN commitments, or scheduling restrictions.Must have true hospital staffing operations and/or centralized staffing experience in an inpatient hospital environment.Candidates with LTAC, rehab, outpatient clinic, home health, patient scheduling, front desk, admissions, or administrative scheduling backgrounds are generally not being considered unless they also have hospital-based centralized staffing experience.Candidates must be able to learn quickly and work independently with minimal orientation.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and allocate nursing and ancillary staff across inpatient hospital unitsAnswer incoming staffing requests and operational phone calls in a high-volume call center environmentManage real-time staffing adjustments, call-outs, shift coverage, and staffing shortagesConduct staffing evaluations and adjust assignments based on patient census and operational needsCollaborate with Hospital Supervisors, Charge Nurses, and department leadershipParticipate in staffing huddles and operational planning meetingsDevelop staffing plans for upcoming shiftsAllocate incoming staffing resources based on patient care prioritiesRespond to admissions, discharges, staffing changes, and patient safety needsUtilize workforce scheduling systems to manage staffing assignments and workforce availabilitySupport patient throughput and operational efficiency through effective staffing decisionsMaintain professional communication across multiple departments while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced hospital environmentRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate's Degree preferredBachelor's Degree a plusExperienceMinimum 2 years of healthcare staffing coordination experience3–5+ years strongly preferredExperience in a:Hospital Staffing OfficeCentralized Staffing OfficeResource Management Center (RMC)Float PoolBed ManagementHouse Supervisor SupportSimilar inpatient staffing environmentExperience handling:Real-time staffing decisionsCall-outsShift coverageStaffing shortagesWorkforce allocationExperience supporting nursing operations and inpatient staffing functionsFamiliarity with:Staffing ratiosPatient censusAcuity-based staffingTechnical SkillsScheduling systems and workforce management platformsSmart Square, Kronos, UKG, or similar workforce scheduling systems preferredEpic experience preferredMicrosoft Office SuiteOther RequirementsExcellent verbal communication skillsStrong customer service and phone etiquetteComfortable working in a high-volume call center environmentAbility to prioritize multiple incoming requests simultaneouslyStrong organizational and critical thinking skillsComfortable working in a metrics-driven environmentProfessional communication with nursing leadership, charge nurses, hospital supervisors, and clinical staffAbility to ramp quickly with minimal trainingStrong interview presence and willingness to support operational needs Tek Ninjas
