THIS POSITION IS FOR CYPRESSWOOD MEMORY CARE COMMUNITY

We are hiring Full-time and Part-time Cook positions! $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

The Cook performs specified duties in order to maintain high-quality food preparation, production, service and portion control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• prepares and cooks food for residents
• monitors food service for nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards
• frequently uses microwave, stove, oven, can openers, dishwashers, slicers, grease traps, vent hoods, and
freezers
• cleans and inspects equipment, appliances, and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional
operation
• prepares major meals by following recipes, determining food quantities and following meal time schedules
• follows all food safety regulations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 0-3 months related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• valid Food Handler certification
• ability to multi-task

Communication Skills ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
• must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
• is frequently required to talk or hear
• is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required by this job include:
• close vision
• distance vision
• peripheral vision
• depth perception
• ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job:
• the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)
• the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
