Payroll Specialist

firstPRO 360 is assisting our growing client in Chandler, Arizona seeking a Payroll Specialist. This position is onsite in Chandler, Arizona. The Payroll Specialist is a key member of the Human Resources, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees and contractors. This role serves as the organization’s subject matter expert across ADP Workforce Now and will quickly become proficient in their proprietary ERP system - the platform used to capture all employee and contractor time worked and expense reimbursements. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on payroll processing experience, a strong grasp of multi‑state compliance, familiarity with SOX controls and audit requirements, and the kind of platform fluency that makes learning new systems second nature. Job Duties Process full‑cycle payroll for salaried, hourly, and contract workers on a bi‑weekly and/or semi‑monthly basis Operate across ADP (Workforce Now or Run), Paychex (Flex or Preview), and the company’s proprietary ERP system to manage time, expenses, and payroll data Review and reconcile employee and contractor time worked and expense reimbursements entered into the proprietary ERP system prior to each payroll cycle Audit payroll data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation of all corrections Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and direct deposit information SOX Compliance & Internal Controls Support the organization’s SOX compliance program as it relates to payroll processes, ensuring all payroll activities adhere to established internal control requirements Maintain and execute SOX controls over payroll disbursements, segregation of duties, and access management across payroll platforms Prepare and retain documentation required for SOX audits, including control evidence, reconciliations, and approval workflows Partner with internal and external auditors during SOX reviews, providing requested documentation and responding to audit inquiries in a timely manner Identify and elevate control deficiencies or gaps in payroll‑related processes to HR and Finance leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr Firstpro Recruitment, LLC
