Director of Cybersecurity

Requirements Must have: We are looking for someone with 7+ years of progressive cyber security experience. We need at least 3+ years of experience leading security teams or programs. We expect a strong grasp of modern security architectures and operational security practices. We require the ability to communicate clearly with both technical specialists and executive stakeholders. We value proven experience supporting pre-sales activities and client-facing engagements. We are seeking demonstrated leadership ability, including building teams, setting direction, and owning results. Preferred: experience in a managed services provider or consulting environment. Preferred: hands‑on familiarity with technologies such as Microsoft Defender, SIEM/MDR platforms, IAM tools like Duo, and email security or endpoint protection solutions. Preferred: experience delivering vCISO or virtual security leadership services. Preferred: familiarity with frameworks such as CIS, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, and PCI‑DSS. Preferred: industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or GIAC. Responsibilities: We will rely on you to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our managed cyber security services. We will expect you to define our service offerings, standards, methodologies, and documentation. We will have you establish and track KPIs, SLAs, and performance measures. You will own the profitability, growth, and overall operational performance of our cyber security practice. You will hire, coach, develop, and lead a high‑performing cyber security team. You will partner with Managed Services and Solution Architecture leadership to ensure smooth client delivery. You will act as the executive escalation contact for complex security matters. You will lead client security assessments, roadmap development, and strategic initiatives. You will participate in key client meetings, including Quarterly Business Reviews. You will oversee services such as MDR/EDR/XDR, SIEM and monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and email and identity security. You will guide clients through frameworks including CIS Controls, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, and PCI‑DSS. You will support and deliver vCISO‑style engagements. You will work with sales and account management to expand our cyber security offerings. You will contribute to discovery sessions, proposal creation, and solution design. You will build and present executive‑level security recommendations and roadmaps. You will maintain and grow relationships with strategic vendors and partners. You will represent us at industry events, conferences, and peer groups. You will create thought leadership content such as blogs, webinars, and presentations. You will serve as a trusted cyber security voice for clients and prospects. You will own and strengthen our internal security posture. You will maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with best practices. You will oversee internal controls covering endpoint and identity protection, monitoring, and vulnerability management. You will lead risk assessments, audits, and tabletop exercises. You will ensure compliance with applicable frameworks and contractual obligations. You will drive employee security awareness and training initiatives.
