- Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized tools and observational methods.
- Create individualized therapy plans that target immediate and long-term communication and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing fluency, language acquisition, voice quality, and swallowing function.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists and caregivers, to develop unified care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families, providing them with strategies to continue progress outside of therapy.
- Provide occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for patients.
- Maintain thorough documentation that aligns with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Stay abreast of industry developments through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within the first month of hire.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for treating communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of a diverse patient population.
- Strong analytical and clinical reasoning abilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices.
