Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36

Shift Information: 1900-0700

On Call, Call Back Requirements: None

Weekend Rotation: EOW

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements: Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital)

About Facility:

• 174 licensed beds
• No Trauma Designation
• Teaching Hospital: Only Community Schools of Nursing
• Chest Pain Center: No, but part of Lee Garvey Chest Pain Network
• TJC Stroke accredited
• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information:

• Beds: 45

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele RN exp

• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General surgeries, Orthopedics, Med Tele, COPD, Stroke, Diabetes, and other general med-surg populations

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:5-6
• LPN: 1:5-6
• CNA: 1:8-9

Required Licensure & Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS, NHSS

Skills required:

• General Med- Surg RN skills – IV starts, drain/tube management, wound care, NGT placement, central line management
• Will manage non-titrating Cardiac drips: Cardizem and Amiodarone, Heparin gtts, blood products

Support within the Department:

• CNA: Nursing support, ADLs, Ambulation, pt s cares, meal assist., all duties as assigned
• Receptionist/HUC: Yes
• Charge nurse: Yes, generally w/o patient assignment with additional Team Lead support
• Phlebotomy team: Yes
• IV/VAT Team: Yes
• Resource Nurse: The Team Lead on the unit acts as support to team and charge RN
• RT 24/7: Yes
• Hospitalist 24/7: Yes
• Intensivist 24/7: In ICU
• Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes, centralized for all units to 4th floor, 24/7

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips
• Unit specific equipment: General med surg equipment and tele monitors

Floating:

• Within region and scope of practice
• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
• Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Children s Hospital)
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Orientation (facility and unit):

• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• No call
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
• Shift times: 12h shifts – 7a or 7p start time
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
