Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must be supported by three (3) or more work-related references. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, as determined by Board policy, and a car for use on the job. Primary Responsibility: Provides direct support and training to assist people with disabilities in developing skills and work habits needed for successful employment in work of their choosing. Specific Responsibilities: Responsibilities Related to Individuals Receiving Supports Focuses on the person and demonstrates an understanding that his/her role in delivering supports requires flexibility, creativity, and commitment. Provides supervision and training to individuals in tasks needed to fulfill work contracts or job requirements, cognitive skills, and communication skills using task analysis, modeling techniques, verbal or visual instruction, one-on-one assistance, and any other acceptable training method. Trains workers in self-help skills using above training methods. Assists workers in becoming integrated into the work force of the company in which work is being performed. Solicits and honors the choices and preferences of those receiving supports. Assists individuals receiving supports in understanding their options and the consequences of these options as they relate to their health and emotional well-being. Understands, respects, and protects the confidentiality and privacy of individuals receiving supports. Is attentive to the health, safety, and emotional well-being of individuals served and works with the individual and his/her support network to identify areas of risk and to create safeguards specific to these concerns. Assists the people supported to develop and maintain relationships. Interacts with people in a respectful manner. Honors the personality, preferences, culture and gifts of people who cannot speak by utilizing other ways of understanding them. Assists individuals in the pursuit of lifelong learning and growth. Develops relationships with those receiving supports that are respectful, based on mutual trust and that maintain professional boundaries. Is vigilant in identifying and reporting any situation in which individuals supported by the agency are at risk of or are suspected of having encountered abuse, neglect, exploitation, or harm. Consistently addresses challenging behaviors proactively, respectfully, and by avoiding the use of aversive or deprivation intervention techniques. Where these techniques are included in an approved support plan ensures that implementation is as specified, works to find alternatives, and advocates for the eventual elimination of these techniques from the person’s plan. Respects the human dignity and uniqueness of individuals being supported and helps others understand their value. Responsibilities Related to Program Operation Supervises individuals being supported throughout the day including meals and breaks to maintain the required ratio of staff to consumers. Documents daily work performance of individuals being supported and training provided. Implements and documents formal Behavior Support Plans and supplies supporting documentation. Assist individuals being supported with medications as prescribed by his/her physician and documents appropriately. Assists in developing training goals and objectives for assigned individuals according to his/her needs. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary team for supported individuals within assigned work area and attends all pertinent meetings related to their Single Plans and/or Behavior Support Plans. Transports individuals receiving supports in personal car, or in Center vehicle or other available means to and from Center, to and from work sites, and/or for any other Program related needs. Maintains competency in the profession through learning and ongoing communication with others. Coordinates with customers to ensure accomplishment of work tasks to specifications. Attends appropriate in-service training and required meetings. Performs any other related duties, as needed. General Responsibilities: Relationships and Contact with Others Conducts self in a manner that serves as a positive role model to other staff, individuals receiving services, their families, volunteers, businesses, other agencies, and the public. Develops and maintains a cooperative working relationship with all Aiken County Board of Disabilities/Tri-Development Center personnel as well as with the public, other agencies, and businesses. Schedule and Time Management Will be expected to work a full‑time position. Hours will primarily fall between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Flexibility before and after duty and weekend hours may be required and will depend on schedule demands. Will effectively complete all assignments in a timely manner. Will utilize his/her time in a productive manner throughout the workday. Communication Will prepare daily and monthly documentation as required. Communicates in a manner that is easily understood, concise, and professional. Policies and Procedures Will adhere to Aiken County Board of Disabilities/Tri-Development Center Policies and Procedures as outlined in the policy manual. Will follow the provisions of all memorandums, directives, and applicable manuals. Will follow all policies and laws pertaining to client confidentiality. Will complete other duties as assigned. Supervisor: The direct supervisor for the Work Crew Supervisor will be: Supported Employment Coordinator for staff assigned to Aiken. Assistant Supported Employment Coordinator II for staff assigned to North Augusta. Meetings will be held as necessary with the Supported Employment Coordinator/Assistant Supported Employment Coordinator. The Work Crew Supervisor shall be responsible for keeping his/her supervisor informed of any problems related to performing his/her duties and/or complying with the standards and policies under which the agency operates. Typical Physical Demands: The Work Crew Supervisor must have the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Activities include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, driving, making and transferring phone calls, taking messages, completing paperwork/reports, and possibly physical intervention with upset, combative, and/or psychotic individuals. He/She is subject to lifting, carrying, and restraining individuals and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions: He/She must be willing to accept other positions temporarily, when necessary. He/She may be subject to falls, infectious diseases, odors, noises, and physical injury due to behavioral intervention. This position will be considered non‑exempt for the purposes of overtime compensation.
