Events & Fundraising Coordinator

The Du Bois Freedom Center seeks a reliable, warm, and community-facing Part‑Time Events & Fundraising Coordinator to support public programming and serve as a tour guide for the Center. This in‑person role focuses on assisting with event logistics, representing the Center on‑site, engaging visitors through conversation and outreach, and leading tours that bring the mission and W.E.B. Du Bois’ legacy to life. Key Responsibilities Support on‑site execution of public programs, events, and community gatherings. Coordinate with Operations, Communications, and Programming staff to ensure seamless event execution, including setup, guest coordination, and breakdown. Represent the Center as a welcoming and knowledgeable presence, engaging visitors, sharing its mission, capturing contact information, and connecting interested individuals with appropriate staff. Coordinate with speakers, partners, and vendors while monitoring event flow and addressing needs in real time to maintain a high‑quality experience. Support donor engagement at events, including encouraging donations and identifying prospective donors for senior staff follow‑up. Assist in implementing fundraising campaigns and initiatives. Help plan and execute donor‑focused events and engagement opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters and community stakeholders. Work collaboratively with leadership, board members, and staff on fundraising strategies. Qualifications Experience in event coordination, fundraising, nonprofit work, or community engagement, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in live event settings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in public‑facing roles. Warm, dependable, and proactive, with a friendly and upbeat presence. Strong interest in history, museum education, or cultural institutions, and commitment to the mission of the Du Bois Freedom Center (Berkshire familiarity preferred). Additional Requirements Availability to work weeknights and weekends. Ability to work fully in‑person at events and program locations. Reliable transportation for local travel.
