Registered Nurse, Geri/Cardio, 36 Hours (Nights)

Registered Nurse Location: M6W Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights) Medical Surgical / 6 West Department 6 West is a 36-bed medical unit caring for geriatrics, cardiology, medical/surgical, and CCU team patients. The unit provides specialized training for patients on Flolan & Remodulin medications, used to treat pulmonary hypertension and Raynaud’s disease. 6 West is designated for the NICHE program, a national geriatric nursing program focused on elders aged 65+. Position Summary As an RN in the Medical Surgical unit, you will provide patient-centered nursing care, delivering high-quality services and supporting the BMC nursing organization. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education. Communicate effectively with the health care team, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data. Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies. Assist leadership with quality improvement projects as needed. Job Requirements Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts. 1+ year of RN experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications; ACLS required for certain units. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications for certain practice areas. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus. Job Benefits Competitive pay ($38.05–$75.33 per hour).
