Summary About the Position: This position is located at Army Medical Center Madigan, Public Affairs office, Tacoma Washington. The position requires the incumbent to plan, develop, analyze, and evaluate assigned information programs for the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- Serve as the principal advisor to the Commander and senior leaders on public affairs and communication policy.
- Conduct research and helps shape plans and policies to ensure public information considerations are fully addressed.
- Evaluate public opinion trends to align garrison policies with community interests.
- Maintain effective working relationships with government officials, Congress, civic organizations, media representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Act as the official spokesperson and primary point of contact for local and national media requiring immediate response.
- Prepare and coordinate speeches, presentations, and communication materials for general and targeted audiences.
- Develop and manage social media plans in accordance with policy.
- Oversee and coordinate the workload of Public Affairs staff and maintains required files at the medical center.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Must have have or able to obtain and maintain a valid stateside driver's license prior entrance on duty is establish.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, weekends and/or holidays.
