School/Center: Accounting Services Location: 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Viera Job Number: 000190 School Year: 2027 FY Position: STAFF ACCOUNTANT Subtitle/Areas: BEGINNING SALARY: Based on classification and pay plan for Non-bargaining employees: Grade 16 - $47,555 - $59,445 annually Experience working in a Florida school district Strong knowledge of GAAP Proficiency with accounting software and Excel Date Available: 06/23/2026 Status: All Applicants Contract: 12 Month Hours/Day: 8.000 Qualifications/Certifications: SUMMARY Assist Accounting Management in maintaining accurate and cost-effective accounting operations of the School Board. To perform professional account work involving independent judgement and the application of accounting concepts, principles, and techniques to a variety of accounting functions. To perform as a group leader, directing and evaluating processes, providing training and leadership to other staff in a collaborative environment. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED: Bachelor s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field from an accredited educational institution with a minimum of 24 semester hours of upper-level accounting coursework required. Must be proficient in operating a computer and standard Microsoft office products. PREFERRED/DESIRED: At least 3 years of progressively more responsible accounting work experience in a medium to large sized organization is preferred. Governmental accounting experience is preferred. At least one year of supervisory or other leadership experience in a medium to large organization is preferred.
