Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Material Handler positions for a Manufacturing company in Tipton, Indiana. This is a Temp-to-Hire job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Safely operate forklifts to move raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility

• Scan barcode labels and inventory into the correct locations using handheld scanners and computer systems

• Load and unload semi-trailers as needed

• Supply work centers with the correct materials and stage upcoming materials for production

• Remove completed parts from work centers and transfer them to the next designated location

• Maintain organized raw material and work-in-progress storage areas

• Empty scrap hoppers and dispose of waste materials in the proper recycling or waste containers

• Transport empty containers and production materials to designated locations

• Perform daily forklift safety inspections at the beginning of each shift

• Assist the shipping and receiving department with daily operations as needed

Compensation (USD):

1st Shift:

$16.50/hour

2nd Shift:

$17.00/hour

Schedule:

1st Shift

Monday – Friday

7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

2nd Shift

Monday – Friday

2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Overtime and schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Ability to safely operate a forklift or willingness to complete forklift training

• Ability to use barcode scanners and computer systems for inventory tracking

• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Ability to lift, move, and transport materials throughout the facility

• Strong organizational skills and commitment to workplace cleanliness

• Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed

• Good communication skills and willingness to support multiple departments

• Computer and hand scanner experience preferred; training available
