Intellectual Property Associate Attorney
A well-established law firm is seeking an IP Associate to join their growing IP practice. This position can be based out of Portland, ME, Boston, MA, or Portsmouth, NH.
Responsibilities:
- Handle patent prosecution matters from application drafting through prosecution.
- Work closely with clients and attorneys to understand complex technical and legal issues.
- Draft and prosecute patent applications involving technologies such as medical devices, electronics, robotics, and related technologies .
- Prepare clear, technically accurate legal documents and client communications.
- Analyze complex technical concepts and translate them into effective patent strategies and written materials.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients on intellectual property matters and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a closely related technical field .
- Experience with patent matters involving medical devices, electronics, robotics, or similar technologies .
- Strong academic background.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong technical and legal writing skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical and legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
