We are seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to lead and oversee a high-volume personal injury practice based in Uniondale, NY. This is a leadership role ideal for a seasoned attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring teams, and is comfortable owning both legal strategy and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within a personal injury practice
• Oversee case strategy from intake through resolution, ensuring high-quality legal work and client outcomes
• Handle a reduced caseload of complex or high-value matters
• Drive litigation strategy, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Ensure compliance with New York legal standards, deadlines, and firm protocols
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys and legal staff
• Collaborate with leadership on process improvements, case management workflows, and performance metrics
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure exceptional client service

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission (required)
• 7+ years of personal injury litigation experience
• Prior team leadership or management experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining quality
• Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills
• Experience with case management systems and legal technology
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities

Required Industry/Domain:

• High-volume PI practice environment

Must-Have Experience:

• Active New York Bar admission (required)
• 7+ years personal injury litigation experience
• Hands-on experience handling litigation from intake through trial (pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, trial prep)
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload
• Prior experience overseeing or leading legal staff (attorneys, paralegals, support teams)

Strong Preferences:

• Prior formal leadership or management experience in a law firm setting
• Strong courtroom/trial experience and presence
• Experience improving legal workflows, processes, or team performance metrics
• Experience with legal case management systems and legal tech tools
• Track record of mentoring junior attorneys or building legal teams

Deal Breakers:

• No New York Bar admission
• No personal injury litigation experience
• No experience handling litigation matters independently (from intake to resolution)
• No leadership or supervisory exposure in a legal environment
• Primarily transactional or non-litigation legal background

Score Cap Rules:

• Not admitted to New York Bar: Maximum score 60
• No personal injury litigation experience: Maximum score 70
• No trial experience or courtroom exposure: Maximum score 70
• No leadership/management experience: Maximum score 75
• No high-volume caseload management experience: Maximum score 75
• No experience mentoring attorneys or legal staff: Maximum score 80
• No end-to-end litigation ownership (intake → trial/settlement): Maximum score 75
• Limited familiarity with legal tech/case management systems: Maximum score 85
