Role Description The Affordable Housing Occupancy and Housing Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This position is responsible for overseeing occupancy processes, including applicant intake, eligibility screening, waitlist management, and lease-up activities for affordable housing units. The manager ensures ongoing compliance with applicable local, state, and federal housing regulations, including income certifications, recertifications, documentation, and reporting requirements. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate resident records, coordinating with property management and social services staff, responding to resident inquiries, and supporting fair housing and nondiscrimination practices. The role also involves monitoring housing program requirements, preparing for audits and inspections, and recommending process improvements to enhance resident experience and operational efficiency. Qualifications Experience in affordable housing programs and housing compliance, including Affordable Housing Background in Property Management with a focus on occupancy, lease administration, and regulatory documentation. Understanding of fair housing laws, income eligibility standards, and audit/reporting practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills for working with diverse residents and staff. Proficiency with property management or housing compliance software and basic office applications. Ability to work on-site full time, manage multiple priorities, and maintain detailed, accurate records.
