Chief Estimator

The Fordy Group is partnered with a leading national electrical contractor on a confidential search for a Chief Electrical Estimator in Dallas, Texas. As Chief Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a key role in shaping the company’s estimating function, leading the estimating team and helping drive the strategy behind major project pursuits. The Role Lead the full estimating process for complex electrical projects, from bid review through final proposal. Evaluate drawings, specifications, and scope to develop complete and accurate estimates. Work closely with PMs, engineers, and preconstruction teams to align estimates with project execution strategies. Lead, mentor, and develop estimators within the team. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Help determine which projects to pursue and develop competitive pricing strategies. Support the continued growth and development of the estimating function. What They’re Looking For 10+ years of electrical estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Strong commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction experience. Experience estimating large-scale projects, ideally including data centers or other complex facilities. Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and relevant electrical industry standards. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, riser diagrams, and panel schedules. Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and lead an estimating team. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered. Why Join?
