You will be expected to approach user needs with pragmatic problem solving and solutions. You’ll demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning new skills and play an integral role in impacting team culture, practice, and engagement. As a valued member of our team, you’ll: Participate in all aspects of the SDLC Collaborate with other business analysts to conduct assessments of user needs and understand user environments Work to understand the birds-eye view of systems and the impact of any changes to them Collaborate with software engineers and domain experts to ensure work products of LIS meet the highest standards of quality Create software documentation and participate in bug tracking and reporting procedures Contribute to test plans Participate in testing in order to recommend feature or bug fixes for release to production Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Human Skills: Strong Communicator - written, verbal, listening, and questioning Ability to convey ideas from analysis to synthesis Problem Solver - solutioning through understanding the problem, rather than just executing a task Self-starter having the initiative, drive, and willingness to engage in improving the team and the solutions we build Critical Thinker - approaching problems with curiosity in order to build solutions that solve our clients' challenges Continuous learning mindset Openness to receive guidance and feedback from senior team members as well as peers Collaborator - ability to work and share knowledge as well as feedback across teams and roles Technical Skills: Knowledge of the SDLC and Agile practices Experience in requirements gathering and documentation Eagerness to stay up to date on industry and technology advancements Experience with the basic principles of software testing Experience with managing stakeholders, including negotiation of solutions, setting of expectations, and communication on progress milestones Preferred Skills: Experience with Confluence, Jira, or other collaborative team workspace tools utilized in agile project management Supplemental Information CULTURE Our Vision: LIS consistently provides information technology, strategic direction, and forward-thinking solutions that are vital to the smooth and efficient operation of Ohio's legislative processes serving the citizens of Ohio.
