Overview Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist Location: All California locations Pay: $50-$75 per hour Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, or Occasional (Per Diem) Organization Precision Occupational Medical Group, Inc. (Precision) — Precision is California's largest provider of high-quality EMG/NCS testing services with over 65 locations, offering statewide geographic coverage to accommodate testing needs in all major regions of California. Position Overview Performs nerve conduction studies (NCS) and assists with physician-performed EMG. Works independently, using advanced clinical judgement and technical skill to deliver safe, accurate, and patient-appropriate studies for a broad range of neuromuscular conditions. Selects and tailors study protocols with established guidelines, optimizes recording through real-time troubleshooting, and communicates pertinent technical findings to the supervising physician. Builds patient and provider trust through clear communication, education, and attentive care. Adheres to all regulatory, organizational, and departmental standards for quality, safety, and privacy. Education Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree Completion of CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program Associate's degree (or higher) in related field Certification & Licensure BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider R.NCS.T - Registered Nerve Conduction Studies Technologist (ABRET or AAET) CNCT - Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (ABEM) Typical Experience Minimum 3 years of recent relevant experience Skills & Knowledge In depth knowledge of peripheral nerve and muscle anatomy, physiology, and neuromuscular disease processes relevant to NCS/EMG Proficiency in performing routine and specialized NCS (motor, sensory, late responses, comparative and segmental studies) with appropriate technical adjustments and artifact control Ability to recognize normal and abnormal NCS waveforms and distinguish technical issues from true physiologic abnormalities within technologist scope, with appropriate escalation to the physician Working knowledge of medical terminology, basic electrophysiology, and the operating principles and safety considerations of electrodiagnostic equipment Strong patientcare and communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly, respond to anxiety or discomfort, and interact professionally with patients, families, and clinic staff Effective time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing clinic needs Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary clinical team Commitment to maintaining professional competence through continuing education and meeting CE requirements associated with R.NCS.T or CNCT credential maintenance Ability to ensure the privacy and security of each patient's protected health information (PHI) Job Details Shift: Daytime Schedule: Full Time or Part Time Days of the Week: Monday-Friday (weekends as needed) Benefits available Non-union position Position Status: Non-Exempt Weekly Hours: Negotiable Employee Status: Regular #J-18808-Ljbffr
