Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist – Blood Bank
Location & Schedule

• Chapel Hill, NC
• 40 hours/week, 4x10-hour shifts
• $10,000 sign-on bonus available.

Job Summary

Perform advanced laboratory and blood bank testing to support patient care, ensure accurate results, maintain quality standards, and assist with laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood bank testing: Type & Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping, and Antigen Typing.
• Conduct product modifications, including syringe aliquots and irradiation.
• Follow MTP and emergency release protocols.
• Perform quality control, troubleshoot testing/equipment issues, and maintain laboratory supplies.
• Prepare reagents and control materials.
• Train new staff and support laboratory projects.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Science, or Chemical Science.
• Required ASCP/AMT certification based on degree.
• Blood bank experience required.
• 2+ years of experience depending on education and certification.
