Clinical Coordinator

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Coordinator.Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Position purposeResponsible for rendering professional care to patients within the medical practice in support of the physician and as directed by the physician. Assisting Director of Operations in overseeing gastro clinic nursing staff following office policies.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:Make staff assignment in the absence or through delegation from the Director of Operations.Assist Director of Operations in oversight and management of Clinic, O.N.E. Weigh, and Radiology.Assists with ordering supplies and overseeing supply orders.Assists in orientation and education of new employees.Keeps Director of Operations appraised of changes or needs of Gastro.Assist Director of Operations in annual performance appraisals and evaluation of staff.Cooperates on committees throughout the office to promote safe, efficient, cost effective and productive workplace.Assists in providing physicians with current hospital rounds. Oversee and participate in triage/hospital consult process.Participate in monthly gastro nursing staff meetings.Other Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:Provides continuity of individual care by interview, assessment and review of chart.Obtains B/P and weight and escorts patient to exam room.Assists physicians as required. Educates patients on tests and procedures.Keeps exam rooms clean, neat and well stocked. Maintains standards to provide safe, clean and orderly environment.Schedules x-rays, procedures, lab tests and hospital admissions.Maintains charts in proper order and checks to ensure sure clinical and diagnostic documentation are in the chart.Instructs patients on special diets and preparation for complex procedures.Responds to phone calls from patients and hospitals, discusses with physician and returns call, documents all conversations on chart.Relieves other nurses as assigned.Keeps nurses station neat and clean.Anticipates and maintains adequate inventory of supplies.Keeps knowledge and skills current through continuing education.Assist others when work is completed.Screens new patient calls when necessary to establish triage urgency.Obtains insurance pre-certification when required.Performs venipuncture and completes appropriate requisitions for lab work.Functions within the legal scope of nursing practice and licensure.Adheres to established policies and procedures.Reports errors of commission/omission.Refrains from breaching confidential information.Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.QualificationsEducation: Nursing degree from an accredited institution. Active RN license is required.Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experienceOther Requirements: NonePerformance Requirements:Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Knowledge of purchasing, budgeting, and inventory control.Skill in taking and transcribing dictation and operating office equipment.Skill in answering the phone and responding to questions.Skill in time management, prioritization, and multitasking.Skill in writing and communicating effectively.Ability to work under pressure, communicate and present information.Ability to read, interpret, and apply clinic policies and procedures.Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, organize and analyze information.Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and coordinate work activities.Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.GI Alliance is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
