Multiple Open Faculty Positions in Chemical Engineering The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah ( invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at ranks commensurate with experience. Successful candidates are expected to develop dynamic, externally funded research programs that lead to national and international recognition and to demonstrate excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field and be able to teach core chemical engineering courses. We seek the best available candidates with research strengths focusing on the broad areas of energy-related research (especially sustainable/renewable energy and energy systems engineering), the interface between chemical engineering and medicine, advanced manufacturing, and electrochemical science and engineering. Candidates with research focused on theoretical, computational, and/or experimental aspects of these fields are all welcome to apply. Candidates are encouraged to indicate how they will incorporate AI into their educational and research goals. The department has grown significantly in recent years with a total of 25 faculty members, about 60 students at each level in our undergraduate program, and over 75 graduate students. Our department fosters a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Our faculty work closely with other departments on campus, as well as with the Energy & Geoscience Institute, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, University Hospital, the School of Medicine, the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute (SCI), and the Nuclear Engineering Program. Faculty members have access to an extensive array of core research facilities distributed between the main University and the adjacent Health Sciences campus, including a state-of-the-art nanofabrication facility and a surface analysis core. The department is expanding advanced biomanufacturing, including hands-on training, translational research, and strong partnerships with Utah's biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries. The Center for High Performance Computing provides advanced high-performance computational resources, technical support, and training for individuals in simulation science.
