This role involves providing safe, high-quality patient care based on nursing research and standards for a diverse patient population, with an emphasis on cardiac and post-operative care. Job Details Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: NYS RN License, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years post open heart and cardiac care unit experience, at least 2 years of RN experience, 1 year travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem), and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred, or an associate degree with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program. Schedule: 11.5-hour shifts, 3 to 4 days per week, with weekends required. Conducts patient assessments and applies critical thinking skills to manage care of patients with cardiovascular conditions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans. Demonstrates advanced clinical skills crucial to quality and safety in cardiac patient care. Performs charge nurse duties as assigned and ensures appropriate utilization of supplies and resources. Utilizes electronic medical record systems for documentation supporting quality initiatives. Contributes to the professional development of staff and engages in shared decision‑making and unit initiatives. Submits appropriate documentation and adheres to institutional, regulatory, and legal standards.
