Event Sales Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Event Sales Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in community organizations while attending key hospitality trade shows and sales expos;
- Manage sales and events for the location;
- Establish and build strategic relationships with key partners and clients;
- Coordinates with exclusive caterers as necessary;
- Gives excellent customer service;
- Create a referral program and company branded materials to capture reception business in all CCD parks;
- Make at least 25 cold call per week;
- Ensure prompt response to customer inquires;
- Coordinates protocols and systems for ensuring a successful events program;
- Network with the business community to prospect for corporate rentals;
- Manages time well and maintains accurate records;
- Help with hiring, discipline, performance reviews, and initiating pay increases of employees;
- Participate in all catering training programs; help to develop and implement training programs for hourly, part-time, and intern/extern employees;
- Assist with booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed through varying software systems;
- Ensure that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up.
Requirements:
- Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve with strong organizational, presentation and priority setting skills;
- Experience in selling in SMERF and corporate;
- Minimum 3+ years of sales experience, preferably as a supervisor or manager in a hospitality setting – Bachelor’s Degree strongly encouraged;
- Cooperative, team player attitude;
- Salesforce experience preferred;
- Detail oriented;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, mainly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
- Working knowledge or ability to learn database software;
- Ability to develop sales proposals and quotes;
- Ability to sell across market segments to social events, wedding, corporate clients, general consumers, and non-profits;
- Communication skills with the ability to work effectively with caterers and clients;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed;
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills;
- Ability to cold call prospects.
