Houseperson Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Houseperson to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms;
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed;
- Greet guests in a friendly manner;
- Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed;
- Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed;
- Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair;
- Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor;
- Vacuum, sweep and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas and foyers;
- Greet and acknowledge quests;
- Stock linene closets with amenities and supplies fro room attendants; may include taking supplies directly to attendants;
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent qualifty and service;
- Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash;
- Maintain cleanliness of public bathroom and public areas during evening events;
- Be able to work AM, PM and overnight shifts including weekends.
Requirements:
- Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required;
- Clean driving record required;
- Friendly and outgoing personality;
- Guests first attitude;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with late PM hours;
- You must be able to pass a thorough background check as well as be drug free;
- You must be able to pass a thorough background check;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with early AM or late PM hours;
- Able to lift 50 plus pounds, climb ladder, stand and walk for long periods of time;
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property;
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions;
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English;
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 100 lbs. continuously throughout shift;
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions;
- Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage.
