Our company is looking for a Head of Communications to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with our leadership team and become a trusted adviser for their communications at a team and company level and public postings;
  • Work across the business to discover, curate and share compelling stories about our company, our portfolio companies, and our people;
  • Make recommendations around how we leverage various internal communications tools;
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop targeted, strategic communications programs to reach and engage their teams;
  • Be at the forefront of all communications by shaping strategy for programs and executing new and existing initiatives;
  • Be responsible for extending our communications program internationally as we expand into other countries;
  • Providing Swarm’s team with measurable, weekly updates that include quantifiable outreach goals and social media metrics;
  • Maintain an understanding of trends within the blockchain industry affecting the AVA Platform and AVA Labs;
  • Create thought leadership strategy;
  • Developing and executing Swarm’s PR strategy;
  • Develop and help nurture relationships with thought leaders and influencers to grow the product and industry awareness;
  • Monitoring the company’s day-to-day presence in traditional and social media;
  • Spearhead opportunities to garner positive media and make AVA standout amongst the alternative blockchains;
  • Proactively planning for and/or shaping responses to problematic or “crisis” events;
  • Design and build out the communications team (i.e. social media manager, global community manager, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration skills, ability to impact outcomes in a fast-paced, matrixed environment;
  • BA / BS – Engineering or Business degree or equivalent experience;
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills – ability to use data to develop and measure marketing programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically;
  • 10+ years of experience in communications and product marketing and brand management;
  • At least 5 years of experience as a marketing manager for a major brand in either traditional or blockchain companies;
  • A track record of building productive relationships with reporters that results in favorable stories and mutually beneficial engagements;
  • You understand how to tailor strategies for different social channels, and can execute all of them;
  • 3-6 years experience in public relations, internal communications and/or marketing;
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, and a professional level of verbal, written and listening skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to think and execute creatively and independently;
  • A flair for creative narrative hooks and story pitches;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Experience working in an early start-up environment.
