Our company is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform specific gravity checks;
- Use Lab Equipment to prep samples (Jaw Crusher and Riffle Splitter);
- Maintain sample storage;
- Clean up work area;
- Production of highly precise analytical wet chemical laboratory measurements;
- Analysis of grape and fermentation samples;
- Chemical handling;
- Prepare grape, fermentation, drain, press, and wine samples;
- May work directly with external and internal customers in answering technical questions;
- Prepare and conduct lab testing for finished products, raw materials, trial products, as well as environmental samples;
- Assists with experimentation and research activities;
- Record and communicate lab results to the plant management team;
- Completes projects by assisting project team and attending and participating in group and project meetings;
- Assist with training of new team members as needed;
- Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 45 pounds;
- Willingness to respond to changing priorities with eagerness;
- Conform to all requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- General knowledge of chemistry and chemical processing/refinement techniques;
- BS or MS in a life science area;
- Employment Type: Up to 6-month contract with possibility to go perm;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong mathematical skills;
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload;
- Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in lab information systems is desirable;
- Strong PC skills includes MS office programs;
- Location: Kansas City, MO;
