Our company is looking for a Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant Job to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Complete necessary documentation;
- Complete diagnostic testing;
- Other responsibilities as assigned;
- Educate patients about contact lens insertion, removal, care and replacement;
- Educate patients on the proper way to insert/remove/replace contact lenses;
- Provide vision needs and eye health information to patients;
- Gather information about a patient’s vision history;
- Help patients choose the perfect eyewear;
- Other assigned responsibilities as needed;
- Ensure office visitors and patients have a positive experience;
- Assist the doctors during examinations;
- Prepare patients to be seen by the Optometrist;
- Provide patients with contact lens insertion, removal and replacement training;
- Perform all preliminary testing/gather medical history prior to patients interacting with the doctor;
- Provide patients with an enjoyable experience.
Requirements:
- Extremely efficient, organized and resourceful;
- Experience in an optical setting a plus but not required;
- Prior experience in the field is helpful but not necessary;
- Works well with a team;
- A strong work history in customer service, ideally, as a medical office assistant or optometric technician;
- Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment;
- The ability to connect well with patients;
- Advanced English skills — reading, writing, speaking;
- Able to work well with technology and various instruments with training;
- Compassionate, with strong customer service skills;
- Can read, write and speak English well enough to effectively communicate;
- Advanced efficiency and organizational skills;
- Fashion savvy and enjoy helping people make fashion decisions;
- Prior experience would be helpful but not necessary;
- Prior optical experience is a bonus but not necessary.
