Engineering Intern Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Engineering Intern to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting design engineers with drawing layout and completion;
- Participation in team meetings;
- Assist with quality control inspections and tests;
- Other duties as required and assigned;
- Aerospace Engineering;
- Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, design, and cross-training;
- Software programming;
- Maintain alignment between project budgeting and current/future staffing requirements across sites;
- Present designs and results at company internal design reviews;
- Serve as the point-of-contact, database administrator, and developer for internally developed engineering tools (Everyman);
- With supervision, perform software or system level tests and create/update engineering-related project documentation/data;
- Communicate inter-departmentally about new business program status, proposal status, and staffing requirements;
- Support engineering staff in conducting technical analysis of infrared sensors and space systems;
- Provides own transportation to and from work;
- Creation of technical documentation.
Requirements:
- Proficient with hand tools;
- Typing and computer skills;
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Exceptional organization skills;
- Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience with MS Office products with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
- Third or fourth year students preferred;
- Skills in aerospace engineering, scientific data analysis, algorithm development, and/or software implementation;
- Must be eligible to obtain secret clearance- US Citizenship required;
- Strong desire to learn more about the industry;
- Exposure to computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms and concurrency);
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and MS Excel with ability to understand Excel worksheets;
- Should have strong computer skills (Microsoft office – Excel, Word and PPT) as well as some CAD experience (AutoCad Inventor / PTC Creo).
