Our company is looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering tasks or mid-size projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines;
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills;
  • Carries out other tasks, not listed, assigned by supervisor;
  • Active DOD SECRET Security clearance required;
  • Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans;
  • Good understanding of non-invasive sensors used to capture biological signals and relevant experience with clinically relevant sensors;
  • Participates in development of program strategies and teaming strategies as they relate to the assigned project;
  • Develop rigorous test protocols to test, tune and validate sensor systems to ensure medical grade performance from JH system and devices;
  • Provides technical input to Project or Engineering Management in linking project-related strategy to achieve business goals;
  • Develop embedded SW and Algorithms specializing in signal processing, machine learning, bio-signal sensing and activity recognition;
  • May provide leadership and/or direction to employees. Mentors lower labor grades in mechanical principles and project performance;
  • Plans and executes small to mid-size projects or task elements within larger projects, organizations, or for groups of projects;
  • Data analysis, signal processing, machine learning and programming experience in software ex. MATLAB, Python, Labview, C etc.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience with taking hardware systems through qualification and certification processes preferred;
  • Prior experience with Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, Wifi, Antenna design for high/low data communication is good to have;
  • Prior experience with flex circuits preferred;
  • Experience in various kinds of sensor design, bring up, testing and validation is must;
  • Experience in medical device design and manufacturing is a plus;
  • 8+ years of strong system engineering experience building low power sensor systems, preferable wearable with at least 2 in mass production;
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs;
  • Solid understanding, experience, and working knowledge of the AN/BQQ-10 SONAR system;
  • Prefer proficient knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools;
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance;
  • All Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.);
  • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing technical papers and proposals;
  • Comfortable with multitasking and customer presentations;
  • Demonstrated history of leading an engineering project and team.
