Our company is looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures safety aspects of the equipment meets specifications and requirements to assure employees’ safe working conditions;
  • Effective collaboration with teams is essential to meet our Company’s goals/objectives;
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills through the use of continuous improvement techniques;
  • Participates in risk assessments and cost improvement initiatives;
  • Conduct capacity studies, enhance system reliability, and identify/implement productivity improvements including new technologies;
  • Develop and improve procedures and instructions to minimize packing line setup and changeover time/cost;
  • Travels as needed to domestic and international vendor sites and company locations;
  • Provide key technical support in capital projects and new product and packaging material testing/start-ups;
  • Show thorough understanding of the interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment, and people to provide robust operating systems;
  • Minimize packaging material scrap, product scrap and product giveaway;
  • Works in compliance with GMP work practices, ISO13485, and ISTA Standards;
  • Participates as the team member responsible for packaging on New Product Development projects and Packaging Development projects;
  • Develop/maintain material balances and unit operation capability information to ensure optimal production rates, parameters, and formula;
  • Participate in projects that involve cross-functional teams as the owner of all packaging related deliverables;
  • Work with Packaging operations and suppliers to troubleshoot packaging issues, maintain packaging quality, and optimize packing line efficiencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field;
  • Maintains a focused knowledge of sustainability initiatives & future trends beneficial toward corporate goals;
  • Experience in writing and executing design, equipment, and process validations;
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail;
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity;
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects;
  • Experience in the use of statistical tools (Lean Six Sigma) for problem solving a plus;
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering;
  • Troubleshooting;
  • Solidworks experience is a plus;
  • Interpersonal Savvy;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Medical device industry product design and validation process knowledge;
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • Proficient in TOPS, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
