Our company is looking for a Sr. Packaging Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/company system items that are per training curriculums;
  • Mentor lower-level packaging engineers;
  • Manage qualification of new packages or changes to ensure quality and mitigate risk;
  • Assemble and report department metrics. Lead monthly project reviews meetings;
  • Apply knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging, ensuring robust package verification and approval;
  • Identify new packaging suppliers and CMOs as needed. Justify, arrange qualification, and participate in compliance audits as required;
  • Present packaging project statuses at project and department meetings;
  • Awareness of future trends, process improvements, and new technologies. Communicate and introduce as applicable;
  • Create and approve technical artwork specifications;
  • Team leader for technical packaging projects on cross-functional project teams;
  • Will be a member of multidisciplinary project teams and be called on to lead teams for tasks that are focused on packaging issues;
  • Lead on-site implementation of changes and packaging-related launch activities at CMOs;
  • Evaluate new packaging process or packaging to increase productivity and/or reduce costs without sacrificing quality;
  • Oversee evaluation and development of new packaging materials and processes;
  • Initiate and follow up on assembly build instructions for all engineering builds in U.S. and Asia.

Requirements:

  • Process development or technology transfer experience preferred;
  • Superior communication and presentation skills;
  • Working knowledge of packaging manufacturing processes;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and judgment;
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, CAPE or TOPS;
  • Travel to Asia occasionally to attend technology reviews and resolve subcon issues;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience working with packaging artwork;
  • Demonstrated initiative; results oriented, initiative to institute changd;
  • Competence in working with multiple databases, technical acronyms and complex data sets;
  • Ability to problem solve and assist the reliability group on FA’s on assembly related failures;
  • Independent thinker with demonstrated skills working in teams or leading project teams;
  • Highly developed organizational, project management and influencing skills;
  • Ability to carry on multiple projects, set time-lines and prioritize projects;
  • Knowledge and experience of testing methods including CCI, ISTA, ASTM.
