Our company is looking for a Survey Crew Chief to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform topographic surveys & utility investigators;
  • Draft and review legal descriptions. Supervise the preparation of parcel, record of survey, right-of-way maps, etc;
  • Directs and conducts field surveys for projects;
  • Draft and review legal descriptions;
  • Proficient in operating surveying equipment and data collectors/platforms;
  • Identifies hazardous situations and applies company safety procedures;
  • Professional communication with clients, contractors, teammates, etc;
  • Transfers survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquires data for field use;
  • Relate boundary surveying by interpreting survey deeds and boundary maps, perform survey boundaries as needed;
  • Motivate, train, & lead crew & staff members on proper field procedures;
  • May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software;
  • Drives company or personal vehicle to reach jobsites;
  • Interpretation of design plans to construction/staking/laying out;
  • Ensures surveys are compliant with applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience required of surveying using level/conventional/surveying equipment while collecting field survey data;
  • Repetative lifting will be required at tiems;
  • Boundary Atla surveys knowledge and experience;
  • Proficient working knowledge of Civil 3D and Trimble Geomatics;
  • Candidates should have office and field survey experience with ability to understand construction plans and maps;
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Able to work outdoors, in various weather conditions and terrain conditions;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • 3D Scanning preferred (not required);
  • Organization, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills required;
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required;
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed;
  • Successful candidates should have 10+ years of land surveying experience with preference given to those with PLS and LSIT certifications;
  • Trimble GNSS & Survey Controller or tablet;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
