Grade Foreman Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Grade Foreman to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment;
- Reviews and approves employee time reporting;
- Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program;
- Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget;
- Assist in the coordination of construction activities;
- The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely;
- Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2-7 person crew;
- Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and the public;
- Assist in directing field and subcontractor personnel to meet schedule and production goals;
- Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns;
- Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe;
- Maintains an organized job site.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of grade-checking, construction math (volumes, area takeoffs, conversions), plan reading;
- Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment;
- Knowledge of soil and base construction, earthwork quality control test methods;
- Understand the capabilities of earthwork equipment;
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Understand the basics of GPS technology and survey.
