Student Services Advisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Student Services Advisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in achieving the budgeted retention and re-entry goals for the campus;
- Assist in monitoring student attendance;
- Meet with and advise students concerning consecutive absence issues and effect satisfactory resolutions;
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Affairs and/or Campus President;
- Student advocate ‘Liaison’ for grievance and complaints;
- Develop and oversee campus activities to foster the development of student community to include orientation facilitation;
- Serve as an effective liaison between faculty and students and coordinate advising activities;
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school catalog and company policies and best practices;
- Collaborate with faculty regarding student progress, grades, texts and assignments, course scheduling, and teaching resources;
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time;
- Analyze student data, design reports, and propose and execute strategic plans to manage student populations.
Requirements:
- Action and detail orientation to ensure accuracy in complex task;
- Comfortable with data management;
- Ability to troubleshoot student issues utilizing multiple resources effectively;
- Highly motivated to ensure student success;
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in managing large events with over 100 attendees;
- Strong commitment to excellence;
- Experience in providing academic advise to graduate students;
- High energy, positive and enthusiastic;
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree;
- Salesforce experience a plus;
- Able to thrive in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment;
- Passionate about student success and higher education;
- Excellent written and phone communication skills;
- Previous experience working with students in higher education preferred.
