Cloud Solutions Architect Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Configure alarms, triggers, and scale units to enable automatic horizontal scaling of nodes behind a load balancer or within a cluster;
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in areas such as wide area networks, directory services, etc. to solve integration challenges as required;
- Architect highly scalable, available, and elastic solutions that implement industry best practices using cloud services;
- Assist the FAA in implementing a hybrid IT strategy that includes data center and cloud service delivery models;
- Champion the adoption of reusable architecture assets to improve efficiency;
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for business users;
- Write code to automate system architectures;
- Understand multiple design patterns and architectures and communicate recommendations based on client’s needs;
- Produce documentation to aid in the understanding of existing architecture solutions;
- Collaborate with business users to create architecture in alignment with business need;
- Have a Google Cloud Certification or be willing to earn one in the first 30 days;
- 5+ years experience developing and deploying aplications in the Top Secret or Secret commercial cloud environment;
- Collaborate with other Cloud Solution Architects in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform;
- Expert Skill Level (10+ years of experience);
- Architecting, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure and foundation elements to meet application requirements.
Requirements:
- Time management with the ability to manage multiple streams;
- Understanding of best practices, design patterns and reference architectures with an uncanny ability to recommend these as needed;
- Application Development: building custom web and mobile applications on top of the GCP stack;
- 1-3 years of experience creating professional-quality automation scripts using a modern scripting language such as Ruby, Python, or PowerShell;

- Ruby and/or Terraform;
- Demonstrate Expert knowledge in private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, networking, workload types, migration patterns and tools;
- 5+ years of experience as the lead technologist/architect for a major product or service;
- 5+ years experience developing and deploying aplications in the Top Secret or Secret commercial cloud environment;
- Familiarity with a range of approaches to automate deployment of software applications in the Sponsor’s commercial cloud environment;
- Work out of an office in New Orleans, LA or Houston, TX.
