Director of Technical Support Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director of Technical Support to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior Navy leaders to remedy regulatory and organizational roadblocks to technical progress;
- Engage with Flag Officers and SESs to develop enterprise-wide IT strategies that align across the Navy and DoD;
- Stay abreast of DON-wide initiatives to ensure the TD remains focused on appropriate priorities;
- Help develop and execute PEO, DON, and DOD-level IT and organizational strategy;
- Advise the TD on strategic initiatives and technical approaches that will best enable the DON to adopt modern information technologies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience;
- Experience managing complex projects by demonstrating business acumen and political savvy;
- Adept at working with and briefing very senior DoD executives including Undersecretaries, General Officers, and SESs;
- Basic knowledge of the Navy’s business IT organization and construct;
- Ability to communicate complex ideas;
- Experience working with and leading teams that span large organizational and geographically disperse groups;
- Socially astute and professionally responsible to operate independently with little guidance;
- Ability to grasp concepts and logically follow conversations with little previous knowledge or understanding of the topic;
- Ability to see through a vast array of problems and identify root causes of issues, and then develop achievable courses of actions for resolution.
