Network Security Architect Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Security Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps technology and service managers aware of key customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts;
- Sells the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results;
- Identifies and when necessary, proposes variances to the architecture to accommodate project needs;
- Recommends changes that impact the strategic direction;
- Consults with project teams to ensure compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure and services;
- Coordinates architecture implementation and modification activities;
- Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements;
- Develop infrastructure solution architectures at both the application and organization service levels;
- Establish frameworks, process models and interactions with users and other systems;
- Assist with hunts, translate them into iterative processes;
- Create policies and procedures as needed;
- Mentor fellow security team members;
- Create well-defined Network Security Architecture for all of 8×8’s networks;
- Act as the technical authority for assessment and approval of specifications for solution construction or change;
- Work with customers to discover and gather technical and business requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience in Vendor Selection;
- Certifications: CISSP, ISSAP, GIAC, various vendor specific certs;
- Strong analytical and technical skills;
- Must work out of an office in Houston, TX;
- Experience with multiple security vendors, such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet;
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field;
- Travel up to 25% as required;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- B.S. in Network Operations, or Similar;
- 5 Years’ Experience Managing Network Security Devices;
- Experience with Netflow or PCAP analysis;
- 7+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure or systems role prior to security experience within the network discipline;
- Knowledge of the underlying logic that security alerts are built upon and apply them when analyzing raw logs and creating new dashboards and alerts;
- A solid understanding of information security’s role in an enterprise business setting;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
