Our company is looking for a Pipe Fitter to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Cutting, threading, or hammering pipes using various power and hand tools;
  • Measuring and marking pipes for cutting or threading;
  • Drawing layouts to scale while studying blueprints and following relevant codes;
  • Inspecting, examining, or testing installed systems or pipelines;
  • Troubleshooting problems;
  • Cutting or boring holes in structures;
  • Assembling and joining piping by means of threaded, chalked, wiped, soldered, brazed fused, or cemented joints;
  • Planning sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and cutting pipe;
  • Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges;
  • Securing pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools;
  • Threading and ending pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine;
  • Hydro test piping systems;
  • Read and interpret industry blueprints, isometric, section, detail, equipment, pipe support, and plan drawings;
  • Fabricate pipe spools and supports;
  • Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic with a positive and calm mindset;
  • Proper S1 or S2 license in the state of CT required;
  • References to verify your professional skills and experience;
  • Tools of the trade and the ability to bring them to jobsites;
  • Able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Minimum five years’ experience in commercial construction industry required;
  • An in-depth understanding of state and local building codes;
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism;
  • Drug free at all times;
  • 4 years of experience as Pipefitter / Pipe Welder;
  • Must pass a written and/or practical skills test;
  • expected to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height and in confined spaces;
  • 3 – 5 years fitter work-related experience and/or training is required;
  • Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
