Utility Worker Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Utility Worker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Start machines or equipment to begin production processes;
- Pack and store materials and products;
- Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify operators, supervisor or maintenance of any malfunctions;
- Remove products or waste material from machines;
- Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting and wrapping;
- Lift raw materials, finished products and packed items, manually;
- Dump materials into machine hoppers prior to mixing;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Moves vehicles around the facility grounds after proper training has been provided;
- Assists with cleaning facility restrooms and emptying garbage cans located on facility grounds and in the maintenance shop;
- Dispose of trash;
- All fleet damage documented and communicated to appropriate personnel in the case of unreported damage;
- Maintains orderliness of cleaning supplies and cleanliness of fuel island and other assigned work areas;
- Interiors cleaned according to contract;
- Cleaning of facilities at various locations including bathrooms and windows.
Requirements:
- Student Loan Repayment Assistance;
- One year of outdoor or janitorial work experience preferred;
- 401(k) Plan;
- Must have good visual acuity, including ability to distinguish colors, depth perception and peripheral vision plus normal night vision;
- Detail oriented;
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and loose material safely in day, night or portable lighting conditions;

- Have no more than two (2) moving violations in the past 12 months;
- Ability to work under stressful situations and manage multiple responsibilities;
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written directions;
- Ability to read, write and speak English;
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs;
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and six (6) months of cleaning experience;
- Must have reliable means of communication, i.e., home telephone, cellular phone.
