Research Associate-Fixed Term Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Research Associate-Fixed Term to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Precision Health Program;
- Summarize research data, participate in manuscript writing and submission;
- Collaborate with scientists in a multidisciplinary team environment to accomplish research goals;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Develop plans for research projects and help in research proposals;
- Procurement of components, materials, reagents, equipment, and instruments as needed for the research;
- Propose and explore synthetic routes, evaluate and troubleshoot reactions for biomaterial synthesis;
- Document experimental works and analyze data, publish in peer-reviewed journals or patents;
- Directing data collection and supervising field assistants;
- Plan and conduct analytical characterization of synthesized biomaterials using spectroscopic analysis techniques such as NMR, FTIR, UV, LCMS, etc.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics of multicomponent mixtures;
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Organic or Inorganic Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering or Synthetic Chemistry;
- A doctoral degree or equivalent in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, economics, public policy or a related field;
- Biochemistry;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ph.D. graduate;
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Precision Health Program;
- Practical/theoretical background in immunology, molecular/cancer biology, cell biology, and laboratory animal studies are critical;
- Experience interfacing/coordinating with non-academic populations and organizations;
- Strong programming skills and interest in software development;
- Experience in SEM and network data analysis desired;
- Summarize research data, participate in manuscript writing and submission;
- Expertise in data analysis and technical writing;
- Excellent scientific writing ability and strong communication skills;
- Experience with pig physiology and animal lung ventilators.
